Poppets Petcare Cat Grooming Clinic
My love for dogs & cats started as a young child. I was lucky to be brought up in a household with many dogs & cats around me. My parents bred & showed Lhasa Apso dogs when I was a little girl. This allowed me to be involved in helping them with the puppies’ arrivals & preparation of their coats before shows.
I started my Poppets Petcare business in North London in 1998 offering home boarding within my own home & also offering dog & cat pop-ins.
My business went from strength-to-strength, so I decided to start offering dog & cat grooming as an additional service for dog & cat owners. I enrolled in a dog & cat grooming Apprenticeship at a parlour in Mill Hill London & haven’t looked back.
Working with dogs & cats has been my life, passion & my love for so long & always will be.
I’ve always wanted “the very best care for my pets” & this is my mantra for all the pets I am lucky enough to care for.

1998 completed a 3 yrs apprenticeship in dog & cat grooming at Mad About Dogs & Cats Grooming Parlour, Mill Hill, London
1998 Started Poppets Petcare as a business in North London, offering dog home boarding in my own home & owners’ homes.
2001 moved Poppets Petcare to Barming, Maidstone & started my own dog/cat grooming salon

Poppets Petcare offers dog home boarding in our own home for your precious fur babies whilst you are at work or having a long break or holiday away from them.
Before taking on clients’ dogs, we like to arrange an informal meeting with yourselves & your dog. This gives opportunity for all parties to establish a bond & helps us to gauge how your dog will respond to our environment

Cat Grooming
Based in Maidstone, I’m a qualified Master Cat Groomer with an extensive career in the pet grooming industry, with a number of qualifications in pet grooming.
I have specialised in cat grooming for over 27 years, starting out my career at a cat grooming parlour in North London. There, I learned cat grooming techniques, grooming styles, individual cat behaviour & how to deal with all types of cat coat conditions.
For the past few years, I have been collaborating with a number of vets & catteries around Kent, offering my specialist cat grooming methods for owners of cats that need specialist grooming but don’t want their cats to undergo sedation or general anesthetic procedure.
My love & passion for cats goes a long way back into my childhood, owning a number of beautiful fur babies from domestic short, longhair to pedigree cats. For the last 17 yrs I have had the pleasure of owning Ragdoll cats & have rescued a number of them. They are my true love & myself & my husband adore this breed.
Dog Grooming
My dog grooming career first started in North London, Mill Hill in a dog & Cat grooming parlour called “Mad About Dogs & Cat’s”. I worked & completed a 3yrs Apprenticeship in dog & cat grooming.
In 2001, I moved my company Poppets Petcare to Barming Maidstone where I opened my own dog & cat grooming salon within my own property.
This business has gone from strength to strength over the years & now has an extensive loyal client base which we are very proud of.
I have worked tirelessly within this industry & continue to keep up with the qualification requirements needed for dog & cat grooming today.
My qualifications:
3yrs Apprenticeship in dog & cat grooming – In house training.
iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in dog grooming & salon Management.
IPET Network Level 3 Diploma in cat grooming.
Emmi-Pet ultrasonic teeth cleaning.
Master cat grooming course.
First aid training level 2 & 3 in dogs & Cats.
I’m a great advocate in helping other dog groomers to build their confidence with this industry. Hence I have two young dog groomers working alongside me building their own business in the salon today.

Cat Feeding/pop-ins
I’m renowned for being a cat lover as well as a dog lover & cannot leave my feline fur babies out of the business
Being a cat mummy myself to Ragdolls I know how important this service is to my cat owners
I can pop into your own home during the day to feed, clean, refresh their water & have playtime with your cat.
1 cat feed daily £15 time 30/40mins local to Barming area.
Please note: I don’t offer my cat feeding service outside the Barming area, sorry. But happy to recommend another cat services nearer to your own area.
Doggy daycare
Doggy daycare covers a morning drop off & evening pick-up
Drop-offs are between 8am until 10am in the morning & pick-ups are between 4pm until 6pm evenings.
Small to medium breed, example Yorkshire Terrier or Cockapoo size dog £25.50 per day
Please note: all bookings that fall on a Bank holiday, Christmas holiday, will incur a double rate
Helen and Adrian were absolutely brilliant. They were calm, friendly, and clearly very knowledgeable, which made such a difference for Lilo’s first ever groom. Even though he was a bit wiggly and really wasn’t a fan of having his claws cut, they handled him with so much patience and care and made the whole experience as stress-free as possible for him.
